As part of the "THE SMARTER E EUROPE" (TSEE) trade fair from 14 to 16 June in Munich, the "UnLimited" research project funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK) is offering a workshop on lithium extraction from geothermal brines on 15 June. Here, the technical challenges in extraction and the requirements for the product lithium on the battery market will be addressed.

In the course of the decarbonization of the automotive industry, the demand for lithium has increased significantly over time due to its application in lithium-ion batteries. Currently, the extraction of lithium from geothermal brines is being researched in many places in Europe, using various methods of direct lithium extraction. However, not only the technical challenges from a geothermal point of view must be solved, but also the product requirements from the battery market have to be taken into account.

The research project "UnLimited", funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK), is therefore offering a workshop at "THE SMARTER E EUROPE" in Munich on 15 June. Especially the exchange between all relevant parties and the bringing together of their interests is the aim of the event.

Registration for the workshop "Lithium extraction from geothermal brines: What are the requirements of the lithium-ion battery market" is free of charge. A day ticket is required to enter the exhibition grounds of "THE SMARTER E EUROPE".
